Pricing
How pricing works
Every project sits on one ladder: a direction session, a single, a Long Play, a Residency. Start wherever you are — each step builds on the last.
Prices are in CAD and shown as starting points; your quote is set once we’ve scoped the work together. US clients are quoted the same figures in USD. Payment plans are available on anything over $1,500.

06 — Businesses
Businesses & Organizations
KŌST works with arts organizations, startups and established businesses whose products and practices are a healthy contribution to their customers and communities. Every business project is quoted from the same rate card, scoped to the work and how it will be used.
Artists receive standard promotional use of their work. Paid ads, broadcast and out-of-home use are licensed separately, based on term and territory.
Before we take on a business project, we ask
- 01What does your product or service do for people?
- 02How do you treat your workers, suppliers and community?
- 03Would you be proud to have this campaign explained in full?

Clear terms are part of respect

Questions
Because scope drives cost more than category does. The starting prices let you walk in with a realistic budget; your final quote is locked once we’ve scoped the work together — no surprises after that.
Book a direction session. In two to three hours we work out what the project actually needs, and you leave with a written direction memo. If you book a project within 30 days, the $200 is credited toward it.
Yes. Cover Lite, live capture and the direction session are built as entry points, and payment plans are available on anything over $1,500. For bigger projects, KŌST can help you prepare a funding application — programs like FACTOR’s video fund can cover a large share of an approved budget.
Creative direction for a whole EP or album era rather than one single at a time: the visual world, the cover and singles art, the rollout and the shoot direction, all from one vision. It’s how a record ends up feeling like one body of work.
We agree on a defined monthly scope going in — assets, shoot days, check-ins — and it resets each month. After the minimum term it continues month to month, with 30 days’ notice to pause or end.
Projects: a 50% deposit to book, with the balance on delivery. Projects over $1,500 can be split into three instalments. Residencies are billed monthly, in advance.
Artists get standard promotional use of their work — release, socials, streaming, press. For businesses, paid ads, broadcast and out-of-home use are licensed separately, based on how long and where the work runs.
Two rounds unless stated (Cover Lite includes one). Additional rounds are $100 each.
We agree the new scope and adjusted cost in writing before going further — nothing new appears on the final invoice.
Yes. Travel and accommodation are billed on top of the project; shoots within the GTA don’t carry a travel fee.
One creative director holds the vision across everything — identity, design, live capture, video and socials — so every piece feels like it came from the same world. No handoffs between separate vendors, and no one-size-fits-all packages.
